These earrings are a very interesting and expressive example of vintage style clip-ons with artistic design features. The design and construction are typical of high quality fashion jewelry from this period, possibly inspired by Memphis, postmodernism or art deco styles. The upper part is round, with spiral pattern enamel, the spiral shape with metallic luster is typical of the Murano glass technique, especially the so-called "aventurina" (aventurine) style, when copper dust or metallic mica is mixed into the glass to create a shimmering effect. The casting form is a glass dome over a darker layer, often used in Murano earrings. Hand-made irregularities or very subtle air bubbles under the surface are another characteristic of Murano glass. The lower part is hanging oval plates with a dark purple enamel background and red rectangular lucite. The clips are reminiscent of the postmodern or art deco revival design typical of the 1980-1990s. designer jewelry.
