Sparkling vintage clips from the 1955-1960 period. The earrings are decorated with numerous Aurora Borealis (northern lights) crystals, reflecting light in blue, purple, pink and gold shades. The design is geometric, three-dimensional, giving the effect of sparkle and depth.The first such crystals were created by Swarovski in collaboration with Christian Dior in 1955, so many of the then US jewelry manufacturers (e.g. Weiss, Sherman, Coro, Lisner, Judy Lee, Kramer) used them extensively in their creations. In terms of shape, clip mechanism (wide, round holder) and gold base, this model most resembles Weiss or Judy Lee type earrings.
