This massive, textured, braided gilded design with a white domed center (possibly Lucite or imitation stone) is typical of the 1980s-1990s fashion style, when Givenchy maintained a classic but expressive decorativeness of forms. The circle with the 4G logo in the center is one of the main symbols of Givenchy since the late 1970s. The inscription “PARIS NEW YORK” at the top and “GIVENCHY” at the bottom indicate that the earrings are intended for the US market. The brand was used around 1982-1995, according to catalogs and samples on the market. Late-type “clip-back” clasps are used, which appeared from the 1980s. They are more solid, ergonomic and often additionally marked (on the lever “GIVENCHY © Paris • New York”).
