“Granat Manufacturing Co.” was one of the small but high-quality companies that produced jewelry in the United States, especially before World War II. Many of their pieces were characterized by filigree metalwork, often with a single stone in the center (like this brooch). Art Deco style is characterized by geometric symmetry, sharp line motifs, light metal openwork. Most often used chrome-plated metal, silver-plated or sometimes even 10K-14K white gold (less often). In the center of the brooch is a small crystal or diamond (in some cases - spinel or crystal).
