This necklace is a delicate three-row ornament made of various blue glass beads, decorated with floral motifs and other shapes – this is very typical of Murano style or “lampwork” glass beadwork. Some withrose-like fused floral patterns, this indicates the “lampwork”technique – the production of handmade glass beads. The chain and links are made of oxidized metal, with hand-twisted loops between each bead, typical of handmade or small-scale necklaces. Visible hand-made irregularities, air bubbles, non-identical sizes – these aresigns of older, non-automatic methods. Soft blue, azure, mint, darker sea green colors with Murano style beads – very typical of the 1940s–1960s. The combination of hearts and transparent shapes was often used in the post-war period, when jewelry was supposed to express tenderness, romance, and handwork.
