The pendant is made of silver, marked 925 S and the master's monogram HM (fused letters), typical of Scandinavian jewelry. Its design is a geometric cross motif with stepped ends, which are emphasized by a recessed linear ornament, which gives a subtle relief and play of shadows. Such a minimalist, combination of clear forms and decorative geometry is typical of the Scandinavian modernist trend, which prevailed in jewelry from the middle of the 20th century until the last decades. The period to which this work is most attributable is around 1970-1980, when Scandinavian design was distinguished by the purity of form, functionality and subtle but expressive surface decor.
