This is a Reed & Barton Sterling Silver Dragon massive medallion – a solid, 925 sterling silver pendant with an embossed oriental dragon motif surrounded by cloud ornaments. “Reed & Barton” is one of the oldest silver manufacturers in the United States (founded in 1824), famous for its refined silverware and special collectible series. In the 1960s and 1970s, “Reed & Barton” produced limited edition collectible silver mirrors and pendants with mythological motifs (Phoenix, Dragon, Unicorn, etc.). Such medallions are quite rare – the dragon motif appears only occasionally in antique shops or auctions.
