Vogue Jewelry Company, Inc. operated in New York City from the early 1930s to the 1970s, producing high-quality costume jewelry. It was not part of Vogue magazine, but was a separate jewelry company. These earrings are made of gold-colored metal, decorated with amber beads and leaf motifs, a typical example of the mid-20th century Vogue Jewelry style. The beads look like pressed lucite, painted to imitate natural amber or carnelian. The leaf motif is formed from textured gold-colored metal, a common feature of Vogue designs. The marking "VOGUE" (without "JLRY") is an older mark, used around 1930-1950. Meanwhile, "VOGUE JLRY" appeared a little later - around 1950-1960.
